Francine Frank

Franklin, ME

Francine was born and raised in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. She is a self-taught artist, getting her start by leaning on her father’s shoulders, as an observer, while he painted the Bucks County PA countryside in the open air. Her father, Samuel H. Frank, was a student and friend of Walter E. Baum, famous Bucks County Pennsylvania fine artist and art educator. In 1945 Mr. Frank was a member of the Lehigh Art Alliance and exhibited his art in various gift shops in the area. Francine continued her art education by “simply doing it.”

Ms Frank has exhibited and sold her art in Yellow Springs, Ohio at the Dayton Street Theater, Winds Café, and Sam’s Book Store; and in Bar Harbor, Maine at The Barn, Island Artisans, and The Acadia Gallery in the Dancing Planet shop.

Francine enjoys saving Earth landscapes on canvas and has been a prolific painter during the past fourteen years that she has lived in Maine. She prefers working in oils but handles acrylics, pastels and watercolors as well. She is also a papier mache’ and stone sculptor, and a singer-song writer.

Francine is a retired Child and Family Therapist who now volunteers for a bird rescue center, helping transport injured and ill birds for medical care and, in many cases, reintroduction back to the wild.

Francine lives in Franklin, Maine with her loyal, little dog, Tucker.
